Houston is also known for having one of the second largest corporate centres in the United States. In 2006, Forbes Magazine ranked Houston first in Texas and third in the U.S. in the category of "Best Places for Business and Careers". In 2008, Houston was ranked at the top of Kiplinger's Personal Finance Best Cities of 2008 that ranks the cities based on their local economy, employment, reasonable living costs and general quality of life. Houston also ranked second on the annual Fortune 500 list of company headquarters, first for Forbes Best Cities for College Graduates, and Best Cities to Buy a Home.
